BEAMA is the leading authority on smart grid technology from high voltage transmission and distribution equipment through to low voltage local networks and building services.  Representing over 200 manufacturers of electrotechnical equipment, BEAMA works with Government, Regulators and the broader smart grid value chain to shape policy and articulate smart grid solutions that provide practical and workable network and end user benefits.  At the centre of its remit, BEAMA is shaping standards in the United Kingdom and Europe to ensure harmonisation of technology core characteristics and system inter-operability.  BEAMA is a founding partner of UK Smart Grid and an active member of the DECC Ofgem Smart Grid Forum.
